E-Didiman Initiative Wins Ela Motors “2022 SME of the Year Award”

The 2022 Ela Motors SME of the Year Award, a brand-new Hino 200 series cargo-truck was awarded to E-Didiman Initiative of Buka. This was announced at the 3rd PNG SME Annual Awards night held at the Laguna Hotel in Port Moresby on the 06th of October.

Acting CEO of Ela Motors Mr. Eymard Joseph was pleased to announce the winning SME Business and advised the following,

“I am once again honoured to stand in front of you to represent our CEO Mr. Mitsuyoshi Okutsu and Ela Motors to acknowledge all sponsors for supporting this SME program and the organizing committee. Thank you for your great efforts for this event”.

As the premier sponsor, Ela Motors understands that SME is a key focus area of the current government as it has the potential to develop non-formal business sectors particularly in the non-resource sector.

“SMEs are the largest source of employment across the globe and tonight we give recognition to our very own SME champions. Your contribution towards the country’s development strategy is highly valued”. Mr. Joseph added.

He further acknowledged the Prime Minister James Marape and the Honourable Minister for Commerce and Industry Henry Amuli for their steadfast support towards this SME Program, noting it as a crucial support from the government.

Since its inception in 2019, the PNG SME Awards – facilitated by PNG SME Magazine had witnessed a tremendous increase in the number of nominations in various award categories and expressed their sincere appreciation to the Executive Management of Ela Motors for sponsoring the ‘PNG SME of the Year Award’ for the third consecutive year.

The event was hosted to recognize excellence, inspire innovation, growth and reward the best performing SMEs around the country.

In reinforcing this support, Ela Motors had advanced the value of the major prize award for this year and pledged to commit its support to this SME program into the future. Mr. Joseph elaborated further that the company’s paramount philosophy is in alignment with GOPNG SME policies, that is to live, prosper and sustainably grow with the people, communities and the country.

The founder of the E-Didiman Initiative, a rural tech company in Autonomous Region of Bougainville focused on building Agro-Economic fields, Jordan Becks conveyed his sincere appreciation and thanks to Ela Motors for sponsoring the Top SME award and all the other sponsors of the event for supporting sustainable development of community pathways.
