As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Ela Motors PNG proudly presented the PNG Cancer Foundation with a Toyota HiAce Bus donation on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024. The ceremony took place at the Waigani Dealership in Port Moresby, where board members of PNGCF, Ela Motors Chief Executive Officer Masaru Mikami, and the Waigani Dealership team gathered to witness this significant event.

During the ceremony, CEO Masaru Mikami emphasized the global prevalence of cancer, including in Papua New Guinea, and recognized the outstanding work carried out by the PNG Cancer Foundation over the past decade. He commended the Foundation’s efforts in conducting educational awareness and outreach programs in schools and communities with limited resources. He highlighted the importance of extending these programs, aiming to foster further collaboration and ensure safe transportation for people and goods.

“We would like to also thank the PNG Cancer Foundation for carrying out informative sessions for Ela Motors’ female team last October,” Mr. Mikami stated. “We hope our donation will further assist the Foundation in achieving its vision of eradicating preventable cancers in PNG.”

In response, PNG Cancer Foundation Executive Manager Kimbery Kapigeno expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ela Motors for their generous support. “The generous support from Ela Motors provides robust motivation for the PNGCF to further its mission in cancer advocacy in PNG,” she said. “The Foundation is tremendously honored and very grateful to be recipients of this HiAce bus, especially as we celebrate our 10-year anniversary as cancer advocates in PNG.”

Ms. Kapigeno also noted the significant impact the donation will have on their logistics, stating that PNGCF is fortunate to receive a Toyota bus from Ela Motors to aid in their daily activities. “Thank you, and Arigato gozaimasu, Ela Motors!” she concluded, reflecting the overwhelming appreciation of the PNG Cancer Foundation.

This donation not only enhances the operational capabilities of the PNGCF but also represents a meaningful partnership between the corporate sector and non-profit organizations dedicated to improving community health outcomes.
